The Appeal
The appeal to the suspect came during the convening of a press conference this morning at the Command Centre in Warner, and was issued by the Deputy Chief of Police, Mr Lincoln Corbett, a 30-year, veteran of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force.

“If the suspect, Kian Darrel Alexander of Belles is hearing us or can get the message from us, we urge him just surrender yourself to the police.”

“If the suspect, Kian Darrel Alexander of Belles is hearing us or can get the message from us, we urge him just surrender yourself to the police. Bring in the child,” he said, ”surrender yourself and get this over and done with,” he said adding, “The young lady, really and truly needs to be with her family. In the comfort of her family, I should say. So if you are hearing us, through whatever means. We are not sure that you can hear us, but whether its Facebook or other social media platforms. Please surrender yourself to the nearest police station. Or any other person you know in the community that can take you in to the police. Please surrender yourself,” the Deputy Chief of Police,” told the press conference.
We will never rest. We will never be comforted by what the police have done or what others are doing, until we bring this young girl into safe hands.
Prime minister Roosevelt Skerrit
Meanwhile, Prime minister Skerrit said, “We will never rest. We will never be comforted by what the police have done or what others are doing, until we bring this young girl into safe hands. I said that if the family is confident that they know that the young lady is safe, and they have any means of communicating this message with anyone there, we ask that Kian stop at any police station close by. Or he can drop her at a bus stop, and tell us where she is. Or at somebody’s verandah, and say this is the young lady from Warner and so forth,” he said adding “ We can deal with the other issues after that. Once we can bring the young lady home. She can be home in a warm bed, and have her breakfast and her lunch and so on. I think we can breath a sigh of relief,” he said.
According to Prime Minister Skerrit the safe return of the 12-year-old Kernisha Etienne is the focus of the state and other issues will be dealt with later.
Wanted By The CDPF
Alexander is wanted for attempted murder, and kidnapping offences, since on the night of 11:30 pm of Tuesday, June 7th, he assaulted his uncle, Laurent Joseph Bruno at his home in the village of Warner with a cutlass inflicting “serious wounds to his head and face,” before kidnapping 12-year-old, Kernisha Etienne, of the same address, and taking her with him into the surrounding bushes. Bruno, who is the child’s adopted father, was admitted to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital for medical attention.

Meantime, Kian Alexander remains at large. The search and rescue operation spear-headed by the island’s Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF), continues for a fourth day.
Since Tuesday, search parties have been frantically searching the hills and valleys of the area where the suspect is believed to be hiding.
