US$3.8 million to St. Vincent disaster recovery -Ambassador, Linda Taglialatela, US Ambassador to Barbados/OECS

Ambassador Linda Taglialatela, US Ambassador to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean and the OECS has just announced in a press conference hosted by the Office of the Prime minister in St. Vincent and the Grenadines,(SVG) that a further US$ 3.8 million dollars is to be made available to the Government of SVG for what Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves describes as the “Humanitarian and rehabilitation recovery effort after La Soufrière volcanic eruptions”

Ambassador Taglialatela announced that “It gives me great pleasure to announce today, that the United States is giving 3.8 million dollars for emergency assistance to the people affected by the eruption of the volcano.” She said this “newest assistance is administered from the UNAID and adds to the USA’s ongoing commitment to help with the assistance to the island. This 3.8 million dollars increases the USA’s contributions to 5 million dollars.
