EARTHQUAKE ROCKS SOUTH OF DOMINICA THIS MORNING

Mag 3.2 earthquake reported in Dominica

A Magnitude 3.2 earthquake was recorded in the South of Dominica 8:45 am this morning January 13.

According to the Public Seismic Network Inc., Dominica, a registered non-profit, non-governmental organization that monitors volcanic activity on the island, the tremor was felt in the Southern quadrant of the island.

Social media users in the capital Roseau have reported feeling the event which epicenter was Latitude 15.417N and
Longitude 61.323W. The release said that the event occurred at a depth of 4.1km

This felt-event comes almost a week after a 5.2 magnitude earthquake rocked the Southeast of Dominica at 10:01 am last Wednesday, January 8.

Meanwhile, Puerto Rico continues to be shaken by aftershocks.

On Sunday night at 10:57 p.m. and 11:08 p.m, two aftershocks — 4.5 and 4.6 respectively — rattled the southern portion of the US territory, and Monday morning at 6:06, a magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck again.
